Polly Mott Munger is a multi-disciplinary artist from Santa Cruz, California. She is most likely to be found throwing pots at the wheel and shooting film photography, but her practice also touches dance, printmaking, cooking, and tattoo. Polly’s art is always reaching towards the land: whether it be by capturing the erotic of farm veggies, cooking pots in wood-fired kilns and using glazes that emulate the ocean, exploring and documenting how bodies fit into a landscape, or dancing with her toes in the earth. While she wishes she could catch moments in jars to keep and enjoy forever, Polly relies on her art practice to archive moments of beauty, prayer and interdependence into two and three-dimensional vessels of memory.
